The Birth of Labor Day: Rooted in Pullman Hell

This is being posted on the eve of Labor Day 2017. In honor of Labor Day tomorrow, I’m offering a slice of Labor Day history.

The link below is to an entry I created for Labor Day 2015 on another one of my blogs. I had only just discovered for myself “The rest of the story” about why and when we observe Labor Day. And I wanted to share my findings with others who, likewise, probably didn’t learn most of the nitty-gritty of this “stuff” in high school history.

As usual in my blog entries, lots of nostalgic vintage photos, lots of fascinating tidbits of historical and cultural trivia…and a heavy dose of reality for a chaser.
